OnTheDot is a store-to-door delivery company with a mission to help UK retailers be front of mind for their customers.
In a world that is increasingly impatient and with higher expectations; It is now critical that retailers offer same-day and on-demand solutions as part of their overall customer experience.

Background
On The Dot was launched to revolutionize the logistics and delivery industry, backed by CitySprint UK Ltd, one of the UK’s largest same-day courier companies.
Our goal is to develop cutting-edge software that enhances processes and tackles the challenges of on-demand and traditional last-mile delivery.
My Role
As the second person to join the OnTheDot startup, I took on the complete UX research and design for key projects, including Booking, Allocation, Internal App, and Partner App. I independently handled all UX/UI aspects of these initiatives from start to finish.

Challenge
In a constantly connected world, waiting an entire day for a package delivery no longer makes sense.
On the Dot aimed to revolutionize convenience by offering shoppers the flexibility of 1-hour delivery windows and providing retailers with an innovative, hyper-local same-day delivery solution to give them a competitive edge.
Design Process

To research the booking app, I engaged with stakeholders, identified potential customers conducted interviews with them, and analyzed the existing systems at CitySprint as well as those of key competitors.

Understand
Our research revealed key insights and identified three main user groups:
Late, lost, or missed deliveries cost retailers millions annually, negatively impacting customer satisfaction, loyalty, and brand reputation.
Customers are frustrated by the limited delivery options, often forced to compromise between cost, convenience, and control.
Shoppers expressed that they would order more online if better delivery options were available

Key Features Identified
OnTheDot service is designed with user convenience at its core:
Flexible Delivery Window: Users choose a one-hour delivery slot on their preferred date.
Extended Retailer Access: Users can collect from non-partner retailers by uploading receipts and addresses.
Optimized Collection Zones: Logistics are streamlined into 5 and 10-mile zones for faster, more efficient deliveries.
Last-Minute Changes: Users can modify their delivery window even after booking.
Real-Time Reporting: Retailers can track orders and deliveries via a live dashboard.
Scheduling Flexibility: Nationwide service available 7 days a week with 1, 2, and 4-hour delivery options, boosting conversions and customer loyalty.

With referencing wireframe , I turned my ideas into high fidelity screens using Adobe XD & created a clickable prototype to validate my solutions..

We stay in constant contact with our users to ensure our solutions are free of issues that could impact task completion, while also gathering both qualitative and quantitative feedback on their experience.
The OnTheDot booking app has seen significant success, processing over 5,000 bookings per day across the UK, and has earned numerous awards both domestically and internationally.
